This is my first classical guitar single! It is dedicated to my father and named after one of the mountains near where he lived in Colorado. The mountain scenes in the video overlook the town of Salida. The composition is a slow build through a very linear melody that arrives at an energetic refrain. The momentum is broken with a melancholy bridge and the listener is then sent on their way with a return to the familiar linear melody. 2023
Oud Metal?!
I heard of the oud in late 2020 and had to get my hands on one. As soon as I had it I began writing this wild combination of western heavy music with middle-eastern traditional instrumentation. I regard it as one of my most entertaining compositions to date. 2021
Eon After
This 6 track heavy metal album features my good friend Bryan Ross on drums. The songs range from blistering thrash metal to head banging groove metal, and are the remnants of a band we formed together called Eon After. Cover art by the incredibly talented Annika Ringle. 2020
A Glimpse of Clarity
A week after having my second shoulder surgery I was getting pretty bored. So I decided that I had to figure out a way to play guitar while my right arm was held tight to my side by the stabilizer. The beautiful melody is me making peace with my situation for the next several weeks. 2019
The Jester
I had a lot of fun with this heavy 8-string instrumental metal track. Two guitar parts are layered to create an intriguing spider-y melody that dances back and forth from intricate clean tone to in-your-face distortion. 2019
